Harpenden & Berkhamsted Lib Dems launch two General Election hubs
The Liberal Democrats are so determined to win in Harpenden & Berkhamsted, they’ve launched General Election “campaign headquarters” in both Harpenden and Berkhamsted to cover more of the constituency.
Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Harpenden & Berkhamsted, Victoria Collins, welcomed campaigners to the Harpenden hub on Saturday (1st June) and then cut a yellow ribbon to officially open the Berkhamsted office on Sunday (2nd June.)
At the last General Election, the Liberal Democrats came a strong second in the old seat of Hitchin and Harpenden. Since then, support has been surging for the Liberal Democrats in local elections, with now around 80% of the councillors. Labour have declared Harpenden & Berkhamsted seat a non-target seat and are directing locals to campaign in Hemel Hempstead instead.
Tactical.Vote - a website that provides advice on tactical voting in the upcoming General Election - is recommending voters back the Lib Dems to get the Tories out.
Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Harpenden & Berkhamsted, Victoria Collins said:
“It has been wonderful to see the support for the Liberal Democrats this weekend, with the launch of our two General Election hubs. We have a really busy 31 days (correct as of the 3rd June) ahead and this team is going to be working tirelessly to get the Tories out.”
“The Lib Dems can win right across our area and are the clear challengers to the Conservatives here. I’m determined to win for our part of Hertfordshire - and get a fair deal.”
“I am proud to stand for Parliament for Harpenden & Berkhamsted and am determined to give this constituency a strong voice in Westminster. The people in this new constituency have been taken for granted for too long by Conservative MPs.”
